RITES OF MANHOOD:

My mother was a full-blooded Cherokee. When I was 14, 15, 16, I went to live with the Tribe and prepare for the Rites of Manhood. At age 16, I went through the Rites, which included a survival exercise .... 6 weeks in the mountains, living off the land. This was a defining event in my life, preparing me to be a Real Man for my future Man.

MY PERSONAL LIFE GOAL:

Recent events in law have made it possible for me to expand upon the Goal of my Life.

I want to marry my man. Yes, actual marriage under the evolving laws of some of the states such as Iowa, so far the only one that authorizes gay marriages for non-residents.

The tradition goes even further. I would love to be a father again ... a "co-father" with my man. Adopt kids, or even inseminate a willing woman so that there is some genetic connection. My own son died in a car crash some years ago with his mother, thanks to a drunk driver.  I'd love to be a dad again.

And to live in some healthful place where life is not all about plastic water and artificial this-and-that. Where schools are not consumed by all manner of cultural crap, and where a family can pack a picnic lunch, grabs the bikes, and go! A place where the law protects the integrity of all families.

Achievable? I think it is.

Dave

Laurel, Maryland

(23 miles south of Baltimore; 23 north of  Washington)

Strong but sensitive and single Alpha Male.... in quaint Laurel, Maryland .... Native of California ...

Prefer monogamous, loving and mutually supportive LTR, but open to suggestions until that comes into my life. Looking for a Real Man. Old fashioned romantic who takes intimacy seriously when it happens. Kissing, cuddling, passion, frottage, and other adventures that develop with chemistry.

Double Scorpio: intense, passionate, deeply loving ...(November 4, 1940).

Not much into the "scene." I love the silence and beauty of the morning too much to sleep through it.

The gift of Love is the greatest of all. It gives meaning to the present, the past and the future, spanning all eternity. It deserves our deepest attention and respect.

To embrace Love is to Live.

Be a MAN.

Look like a man.

Behave like a man.

Kiss like a Champion!

Kissing ignites my heart, preparing for true intimacy. The man whose kissing transports to the stars is truly gifted!

My "type?" Probably younger than me, but who knows? Masculine, non-wuss. Emotionally honest. Intelligent. Hard and honest worker. Passionate. World-class cuddler. Height-weight proportional, maybe slight, average or hunk.

Now that I am retired and living on a small pension, I devote my days to helping the injured ... I transport to medical caregivers.

I believe that life is a journey of inner discovery.

Each of our paths is different, but at times, we have the wondrous opportunity to share our paths with another in love. Life's greatest gift.

I study the philosophy and practices of Buddhism

and a very similar Christian approach, Unity.

I also do serious reading. I am presently studying the works of Eckard Tolle, in particular A New Earth. It is very profound, and provides guidance along a challenging path: The impacts of Ego on life and spirituality. One is changed by this experience.

In addition, I am studying A Course in Miracles, by far the most challenging spiritual adventure I have undertaken. It has been a long time coming.

Nonsmoker and do not tolerate being around the stuff.

My Developing Life Philosophy:

During over 50 years of active gay life, I have learned that there is more to living than the pursuit of the next sexy body. Values count: Integrity, character, sincerity, love, emotional honesty.

Loving another person, caring about him deeply, are among life's greatest treasures, especially when there is connection to powers outside ourselves. It is challenging to follow a path of love and caring, but this is where happiness is found. Our most satisfying experiences occur here. There is no higher calling than to reach out to another in love.

Exceptionally healthy; the only thing infectious about me is my smile!

Tobacco = Higher risk than HIV

I supply recent health certification on the rare occasion when I have a date with an exceptional man. If I am invited into my man, I bareback because I have a lethal allergy to the natural rubber latex in condoms, which is a plant extract. Totally STD negative and happy to prove it . My HIV monthly testing is the most sensitive method of all: Retroviral RNA Detection, finding infection within 24-hours of exposure.
